Situated at the Southern coast of the Akrotiri at Souda bay, at a distance of 19 only kilometers from Chania at the east, just off the Old National Road to Rethimno, Kalyves is a sandy beach, quite protected and not really affected by the summer winds.

It is well organised, offering accommodation facilities, food and drink and facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas, etc), as well as sea sport facilities.

Access from Chania is possible by public bus, running regularly, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike.
